Prague Nightlife Guide: 6 Unique Bars for a Fun Night Out

Prague’s nightlife has impressive range. You can find everything from a wild night out, to a sophisticated cocktail hour. Whether you’re a party animal or a cocktail connoisseur, this Prague Nightlife Guide will suit all of your beverage-related needs.

1. Black Angel's Bar

Located in the gothic cellar of the U Prince Hotel, Black Angel’s Bar is a jazzy, speakeasy-style spot with brick walls and leather armchairs. The bar was inspired by Alois Krcha’s secret bar from the early 20th century. I recommend the Knickerbocker or the Imset Cooler.

2. Durty Nelly's

We did not know what we were getting ourselves into when stumbled upon Durty Nelly’s.

You walk in and it feels like a typical Irish pub with a live singer, sports on the TV, and brown leather seats. Then, you go upstairs and there’s an entire dance floor with karaoke and a fog machine. When we found our way to the packed dance floor, the karaoke MC was fist bumping the air and chanting “more passion, more passion, more energy, more energy!”

Then, you go up another floor and there’s more karaoke and a slightly smaller dance floor. There is even a basement level that was not being used, but I believe also functions as a dance floor.

I won’t lie, the atmosphere was electric. I would expect nothing less from an Irish pub.

3. Terasa U Prince

Terasa U Prince is a rooftop restaurant and bar located in the Old Town, in the same hotel as Black Angel’s Bar. On the rooftop terrace, you’re surrounded by views of Prague’s red-tiled rooftops, gothic-style cathedrals, and the grandiose Prague Castle in the distance.

4. My People Bar

My People Bar is an edgy live music bar also located in Old Town. The main floor of the bar is a little bit cramped but you’ll find more seating towards the back.

5. Ideas are Bulletproof

We had a drink in Ideas are Bulletproof, or Bulletproof Bar, while waiting for a table to open up downstairs in the AnonymouS Shrink’s Office. The handcrafted cocktails were high-quality, although a little on the pricier side.

6. AnonymouS Shrink's Office

Inspired by the Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach, AnonymouS Shrink’s Office is another speakeasy-style bar with a unique menu. Rather than ordering a drink, you select a piece of abstract art that speaks to you, and you will receive a drink that corresponds to it.
